My name is Kate. I am a 25 year old pediatric intensive care unit nurse. I live in Canada. I like: Ani Difranco, chamomile tea, long distance running , psychological thrillers, Starbucks, hot yoga shopping, dark chocolate, reading, p90x playing music (piano, guitar & violin), taking care of others, MAC cosmetics, strength training/plyometrics , and learning about obscure diseases. This is my running/fitness blog. I started running seriously in the fall of 2011. Since then I've done numerous 5ks as well as the Disney Princess Half Marathon for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society with Team in Training (February 26, 2012) and the Forest City Half Marathon (April 29th, 2012 and April 28th, 2013). I am spending the summer training with Runners Choice - I am in the long distance and speed clinic. I am currently training for the Springbank Half Marathon. (September 8th, 2013). My goal is to do it in under 2 hours. I will hopefully do a full marathon in the fall of 2014.

First run after 4 months off with a stress fracture was…humbling. Hahahah. So glad to be back though. Can’t wait to get back to long distances :)

Finally the cast is off and I am back to work! I am going to concentrate on muscle building at the gym this fall/winter and get back to running in the spring. It was sooo hard not running this summer but I am glad to be able to workout again :)

I just got home from sports medicine. I have a right fibula stress fracture. 3 weeks in a cast and crutches :(
